I taught myself some macrame basics in January 2015 by reading books and watching online tutorials. I've always  been drawn to symmetry and I really wanted to find more uses for the sticks that I'd find while hiking. After making my first wall hanging, I realized how much freedom was involved with macrame- there are infinite combinations of patterns you can create.
